Head Room Reimagined

Head Room Podcast with James Valentine

How do our beliefs shape who we are and what we do? Image supplied.

ABC Radio Sydney Breakfast presenter, James Valentine, is back with a reimagining of his hit podcast, Head Room

In the latest season Head Room: The Beliefs, Valentine speaks to fascinating and high-profile Australians who reveal why they do what they do, and what they believe.

Across 12 episodes, guests discuss the beliefs, principles and core values that underpin everything they do, including all the big questions from the serious: ‘Do you believe people can change?’, and the spiritual: ‘Do you believe in an afterlife?’ to the light-hearted, ‘Which are better, cats or dogs?’

Guests include film maker and director of Mad Max, George Miller, Historian Clare Wright, broadcaster and writer, Richard Fidler, CEO of the Grattan Institute, Danielle Woods, composer and musician, William Barton, and Sydney cartoonist, Cathy Wilcox.

“We all have a belief system – whether religious, political or ethical. It’s our beliefs about life, people, and the world that inform the choices we make,” says Valentine of the series.

He adds that through the series, listeners will hear unexpected stories about the beliefs people hold, including how their work has been shaped by those beliefs.

Episode one featuring an interview with Richard Fidler is out now and available on the ABC listen app.
