Legal Answers to Everyday Questions

LiSTNR AND LAW SOCIETY OF NSW LAUNCH SEASON 2 OF LAWFULLY EXPLAINED AFTER SUCCESSFUL DEBUT

Judges gavel on table

The second season of the Law Society of NSW’s Lawfully Explained is out now, allowing listeners to embrace complex legal themes and language presented in an easily understandable and digestible form - a podcast about legal stuff – for the rest of us.

This season features a range of legal experts talking about everyday legal issues touching on topics that include ‘Should I use ChatGPT for legal advice?’, ‘My friend wants my help to have a baby – should I say yes?’, ‘How can the law support the transgender community?’, ‘My friend is in a violent relationship, how can I help?’, plus the legal rights of tenants.

Guests include Grant Arbuthnot, Principal Solicitor at the Tenants Union; Katie Green, Managing Principal at the Inner City Legal Centre; and Simon Burns, Partner at Gilbert+Tobin, and expert in cyber security, tech and data privacy.

Lawfully Explained helps bridge the gap between the public and solicitors and importantly helps them to understand what to expect when they talk to a lawyer. The podcast also points listeners to a website, lawfullyexplained.com.au, and a useful tool where people can search for a lawyer in their area.

“Lawfully Explained plays a crucial role in giving the community useful information about common legal problems and questions that can confront people during their lives,” says President of the Law Society of NSW, Cassandra Banks.

“Getting the right advice from a lawyer shouldn’t be complicated and this second series of Lawfully Explained will go a long way towards helping people facing legal issues to look for advice in the right places.”

LiSTNR Senior Executive Producer ‑ Branded Podcasts, Todd Stevens says there is something in this season for everyone.

“If you have ever been a tenant with a landlord that you think might be crossing the line, considered surrogacy and wondered what your rights would be, or maybe you’ve had someone pass away without leaving behind a will, these episodes will answer all of the questions that you have - without any of the legal jargon.”

The Lawfully Explained season two podcast is available on LiSTNR, with 10 new episodes dropping every Thursday. Listen to Lawfully Explained here.
