Want the keys to your favourite car? Put your headphones on and get a behind the scenes look into the world of the best Supercars drivers in the world.
Supercars, in partnership with LiSTNR have launched a new podcast for Supercars fans DRIVERS ONLY, going behind the scenes with some of the best Supercars drivers.
Unfiltered and raw insights directly from the drivers themselves, take fans behind the scenes with the sport’s biggest names, allowing listeners to hear directly from their favourite drivers between each round of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship.
Each episode will be introduced by Greg Rust, from LiSTNR’s Rusty’s Garage podcast over eight episodes, featuring candid conversations with drivers. The first episode features Supercars drivers David Reynolds, Ryan Wood, and Thomas Randle.
The Repco Supercars Championship (formally Australian Touring Car Championship) is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia’s biggest sports. Globally, it is recognised as the best touring car category in the world and a leader in motorsport entertainment.
Supercars Head of Broadcast, Nathan Prendergast, says the podcast gives Supercars drivers their own platform to speak candidly and a chance to “show off a lighter side not often seen at the racetrack”.
“It's a fantastic opportunity for fans to connect with the drivers on a more personal level…it's about giving [them] unparalleled access to the personalities behind the helmets," Prendergast says.
Greg Rust says the series is a bit like handing the kids the keys to your favourite car.
“Supercars represented over 15 years of my TV life and I still love it immensely, with several drivers, legends and team personnel [who feature] on my podcast. But what’s missing from that offering is a conversation [that isn’t] steered by journos or a broadcaster like me, one that lets the fans eavesdrop on the drivers and the kind of stuff they talk about in the paddock. I’m really proud they’ve decided to add it to our Garage line-up.”
New episodes drop after each round of the 2024 Championship.
